Market activity for the first week of July 2020
Today’s update is brought to you from the Ascent Trail on Blackcomb Mountain.
In the past 8 days we’ve seen 6 new firm sales and 19 new listings. Our current inventory is just shy of 400 listings and has been holding steady near that number for several weeks now.
If you’ve been following my updates, you’ll know that sales were brisk in June and the momentum that the market gained last month is poised to carry forward through the summer and into the fall months. Townhomes and detached homes have accounted for 34 of the sales since the beginning of June with condominiums and quarter ownership properties picking up the balance.
The majority of buyers continue to be BC residents, and most are from the lower mainland. The emerging trend is that those who are attracted to the Whistler lifestyle and have the means to purchase in Whistler are having serious conversations about trading in their urban existence and making Whistler their principle residence. With the so many people successfully working from home now, the dream of trading in long commutes and city traffic for a healthier lifestyle is becoming a reality.
If you have any questions about Whistler properties or want to drill down a little deeper into these market updates, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’m always keen to share my observations and my experience.
