Whistler Real Estate Agent Tour For Tuesday, September 10th, 2019

Each Tuesday, the REALTORS® in Whistler tour the newly listed properties. Every week I add my thoughts on the latest properties on the market here in Whistler, including my opinion on properties that are a good value or extra special. Here’s why the Whistler agent tour is important. My thoughts for this week are below.

Hot Property: 6125-39 Eagle Drive, Smoketree, Whistler, BC

List Price:

$1,295,000

Why it’s interesting:

Built in 1982, Smoketree is a townhouse development in Whistler Cay Heights with residential zoning (no short-term rentals). This unit has been tastefully updated and offers spectacular views of Blackcomb Mountain. Whistler Village, the Whistler Golf Club and the Valley Trail are all within easy walking distance.

Who it appeals to:

Full-time and part-time families who appreciate the convenience of the location and are not focused on short-term rental revenue.

Features

1,399 Sq.Ft.

3 beds/3 baths

Wood-Burning Fireplace

Modern Kitchen

Vaulted Ceilings

Walk to the village and ski lifts

Other Properties on Tour This Week

The Westin Resort & Spa, Tantalus Drive, Whistler, BC

List Price:

$372,000 – $555,000

Comments:

I don’t typically focus on Phase 2 Covenant properties as the 56 days per year restriction on owner usage doesn’t work for most of my clients. However, the Westin is a great hotel and it’s been a while since I’ve toured the common areas and the suites. The common areas and suites have been upgraded and overall the property is looking fresh and modern. This week we viewed 3 studio suites along with a single bedroom unit.

Who it’s for:

Investors looking for steady rental revenue and occasional personal use in a first-class property at the base of the Whistler Gondola.

3129 Hawthorne Place, Brio, Whistler, BC

List Price:

$3,195,000

Comments:

Well designed family home fronting onto a cul-de-sac in popular Brio Estates. The split-level design offers multiple areas for living and entertaining. Open plan living on the main floor with a modern chef’s kitchen, generous dining/living areas centered by a wood-burning fireplace. A large deck above the large double car garage is accessed from the living area and features a custom gazebo offering shelter from the mid-day sun and privacy as well.

Who it’s for:

Equally appealing to both full and part-time families – my guess is that this home will be scooped up by a full-time family either upgrading from their current Whistler home or possible a family re-locating to Whistler.
